Software Developer Interview Experience - United States

Process

I had two rounds: a phone screen and an onsite interview.

The phone screen was one hour and consisted of basic JavaScript questions. It was quite easy.

The onsite interview was much harder and had seven modules, four of which were code interviews. Honestly, I think four code interviews were too many, considering I had to do the same thing in all of them: write a widget using JavaScript. LinkedIn could cut them down to two and still be able to test the same array of skills from candidates.

I found the interview rounds okay, and the interviewers nice and helpful. However, my experience with the recruiters is why I gave this review a negative rating. I had two recruiters, one for each round.

The first recruiter was amazing, very responsive and helpful.

The second recruiter was the opposite. They refused to communicate with me and ignored all my emails asking for information. After getting my availability, they basically ghosted me for the rest of the interview. From the little communication I had with this person, they sounded untrustworthy, and I had a feeling they were withholding information about the role from me for whatever reason. Be wary of slimy recruiters if you are applying at LinkedIn.
