I recently interviewed with LinkedIn for the SWE Productivity Engineering team.

I worked on around 200-225 LeetCode questions (easy, medium, and hard).

The interviewer asked me an array question, and I solved it. Then, he asked me a question related to BST insertion/deletion. I explained the logic clearly and wrote the code.

He was not able to understand the delete part, which suggested he might not have much experience with BST deletion or basic principles. I explained it multiple times, even with a diagram, but he was still not accepting the solution.

After the interview, I googled the question and confirmed that I was 100% correct and my code was perfectly fine.

I then checked his LinkedIn profile. It seems he was a Salesforce.com developer for six years and recently transitioned to a Sr. SWE role at LinkedIn. I'm not sure why he asked me a BST question without knowing the basics of it.

I felt bad about missing the opportunity!
