Process

  • Phone screen with recruiter who surprised me by asking technical questions.
  • Two phone screens and a panel interview, with a 15-minute candidate presentation.
  • Toughest interview I've faced, and it was a positive learning experience for sure. The team lacks standards.

The panel was extremely smug and cocky (mocking answers, texting on the phone while interviewing, etc.). My interview started 5 minutes late, which cut my candidate presentation short by 5 minutes. I only had 10 minutes to present and was cut off – they were the ones who started late! I was 5 minutes early. Have some etiquette, for Pete's sake.

Too many technical rounds. And when I say too many, I mean too many. I don't think their intention was to gauge your thinking methodology, but to put you on the spot. The more questions you answer correctly, the more they'll dig in.

You guys are an EV COMPANY!!! Why do you care about your candidate's knowledge in SI engines? Please ask questions more relevant to the role.
