iOS Developer Interview Experience - United States

Process

They were great when it came to first contact and initial screening. I passed the first technical, which was a phone screen, and was asked to complete a "HW" assignment where you need to submit a small but lengthy Xcode project.

I'm a seasoned developer and nailed the assignment. They got back to me about a week later with a vague rejection letter. I wasn't sure if they just found someone else or if they weren't satisfied with my solution.

While they did get back to me with a yes/no response, all other emails with questions regarding the company or the assignment went unanswered. I thought this was extremely unprofessional (they even state to send emails with any questions) and made me wonder if they have it together.

After you invest such hours on their "HW," the least they can do is spend five minutes out of their day to answer any questions or concerns you have.

Questions

I was surprised they made me do a "HW" assignment.

Whenever companies make me do this, I wonder if they're just lazy and/or aren't sure of the implementation themselves.

Either way, the assignment was fun, so I proceeded anyway.
