Software Engineer Interview Experience

Process

The initial HR introduction call was completed, and a technical screen was scheduled. During the interview, it took almost 10 minutes to set up the link to the shared code website. This was followed by 5 minutes of introduction, and the rest of the time was dedicated to coding.

The problem was straightforward but required many test cases, which was not possible to write within 30 minutes. I therefore focused on the test cases the interviewer was most interested in. I wrote the code for those and generated the output. During this time, the interviewer offered no input, suggestions, or interaction.

After I was done coding, they pointed out that I had not coded for all the testing scenarios and that we were out of time.
