Everyone was very nice, and you can tell there is a lot of joy and excitement working for a company that’s growing as fast as Lyft.
The issue is that they appear a bit overwhelmed on the interview side. The recruiter, like everyone else, was nice but was not very communicative. It took many days sometimes to answer emails, and you could tell she was just very overwhelmed.
The overall process took about a month. I came in once to meet with the hiring manager, a second time for a full-day, six-person interview, and then again to meet with a couple of senior engineering leaders.
The interviews were not very structured, and you could tell most of the people asking the questions either didn’t have much experience or were not adequately prepared.
