This actually happened to me twice.
In February 2019, I applied for a position online and was rejected. Later, a recruiter emailed me about an opening, stating that based on my previous application, I might be a good fit and a hiring manager wanted to speak with me. In another email, she asked me some questions regarding my experience, to which I responded. After not hearing anything for almost two weeks, I emailed the recruiter but received no reply.
The second time, in July 2019, I applied for another position online. I received an email from the same recruiter stating that a hiring manager was interested in speaking with me and that there were some questions about my experience to answer within the email. After responding to the questions, I was asked for my availability for a phone interview, which I provided right away but never heard back again.
This is so frustrating. I have been using and teaching MATLAB for the last 7 years and would love to work at MathWorks. But this recruiter is something else.
