Great product, good work-life balance, and pretty decent salaries, all thanks to the managers returned from the USA who brought some culture and ethics with them.
All the supporting departments to R&D are inefficient at best.
It seems like Admin, IT, HR, and Finance are all cutting costs wherever possible to show their efficiency to their bosses in the USA, without conveying how much people hate the changes their actions bring.
Examples:
Entire HR seems to be run by only one person, with little to no employee engagement. I can bet HR has no idea what employees want. In my couple of years in the office, I have never seen HR engage any employees. It is pathetic.
Parental insurance is available, but you pay 10K for it. Also, the insurance is only 3 lakhs.
I think unnecessary cost cutting should stop immediately in the Indian office. It adds to employee dissatisfaction.
It is in effect on everything, starting from the pantry to development machines, to the overall maintenance of office space.
There should be more employee engagement by HR. At least create a forum where people can express their concerns. HR seems to be totally disconnected with the employees. I have never had an opportunity to talk to HR since I started working here, which was 2 years ago.
