@MathWorks EXEMPTING the HYD office: Lot of learning, excellent peers @ Natick, very friendly and approachable managers.
At the MathWorks HYD office, senior management is the worst. They neither respect nor recognize hard work and show a lot of favoritism. Unrealistic deadlines and no proper planning mean they indirectly force people to work long hours by loading them with more work in a short period. They also practice a lot of micromanagement. Many of the managers show a bad attitude and are not at all supportive or empathetic towards their team members. The managers lack professional ethics and any administration skills.
Well, the HYD office was a startup acquired by MathWorks. This is definitely one of the worst decisions the CEO has made. The senior management at the HYD office doesn't lead by example; they maintain the "do as I say" mentality. They advertise MathWorks core values but never follow them. It never reflects in their day-to-day activities.
Be it any company outings or providing snacks, milk, and beverages to the employees, they always buy the cheaper ones in the market and don't care about the quality of the items they buy or how it impacts an individual's health.
Natick management should pay attention to what's happening at the HYD office. Senior managers are hypocrites. A lot of facts are manipulated and misrepresented by them. If you want to know what is really happening at the HYD office, talk to the individual contributors, talk to those who recently left MathWorks, HYD due to peer pressure. Don't trust even a single person that is not a direct MathWorks recruit.
