I was interviewed in October 2021 by a less experienced person than me. While this wasn't an issue, it felt strange because they weren't able to frame their questions well. Additionally, the person who conducted my interview was not the one originally scheduled, as indicated in the interview invitation.
Regardless, I answered six of their seven questions and felt I should have progressed to the next round. It's not an issue if I wasn't cleared, as this is an interview and perspectives can vary.
A week passed with no feedback. I sent an email, but there was no response even after another week. I called HR for feedback, but they never picked up. I tried again after another week, and this time they answered. When I asked for feedback, they hung up.
I really don't know what else to say about this experience.
I've been interviewed by startups and companies larger than McAfee, but I've never had such a bad experience. I always thought McAfee was a reputable company, and I was so happy to even have an interview. However, I didn't realize that this company doesn't even have the time or a proper process for hiring. They couldn't arrange a suitable interview and couldn't even provide feedback. Now I feel thankful I wasn't cleared. Absolutely a horrible experience, to say the least.
