It has been a genuine pleasure working as a Senior Software Engineer at McDonald's this past year.
From day one, I've been struck by the scale and ambition of the technical challenges we tackle. Optimizing systems that serve millions of customers daily is no small feat, and I find that deeply motivating.
The work itself is consistently engaging. Whether it's improving the reliability of our ordering platforms, contributing to mobile app features, or collaborating on backend infrastructure, there is never a shortage of interesting problems to solve. I appreciate that the engineering culture here encourages curiosity and rewards thoughtful, well-considered solutions.
One of the highlights of this role has been the team. My colleagues are talented, supportive, and bring a collaborative energy that makes even the most complex projects enjoyable. I've learned a great deal from those around me, and I hope I've contributed meaningfully in return.
Looking ahead, I'm excited to continue growing in this role, taking on greater technical leadership.
No cons at all. I enjoy working here.
Keep up the great work.
A call with the interviewer, asked about background and experience. Talked about needing to fit the team project. Was told they need more senior-level. The call was pleasant. Learned what they do and their plan to expand.
90-minute programming exercise on a personal ServiceNow instance, followed by a three-person panel interview. Simpler than normal for senior developer positions. The focus was on DevOps migration to ServiceNow.
Very easy; online then called for an interview. It's a lengthy process, however, it is quite easy, and the questions are repeated throughout every interview. You get called for the interview months after you apply.
