Applications Developer Interview Experience - United States

Process

There was a phone screening with the recruiter. Then I was scheduled for a first in-person screening. The interviewer didn't even know he was interviewing me for a developer position. He was under the impression that he was interviewing for an application support role, and the interview was more about writing standard Oracle queries. In the feedback, the recruiter also mentioned that I was not being considered for the application support role. I'm not sure how they can shift from evaluating a person for one role to another without informing me. It was a very bad experience for me, especially for the size of the company.
