Pros

Supportive manager for career growth. Flexi work arrangement as long as deliverables are met. Free coffee.

Cons

Office space is bland, and it's considered a manufacturing site as well, so there are a lot of restrictions in place which one will not expect in a modern office.

Cons might not be visible for those who haven't gone through the downturn, which happens 3 to 5 years in cycle, where the culture shift is prominent.

  • Cutthroat environment where people are not shy to admit that they are trying to 1-up you.
  • Be comfortable with people not responding to your requests or to your chat; it's part of the culture.
  • Extremely high workload during project milestones.
  • Zero downtime in between tasks, leaving no time for one to recuperate or to retrospect a task.
  • Story points allocation is a joke, because one can be working on multiple projects at once while not being advertised to upper management.
Advice to Management

Take employee's happiness and mental health into consideration during project planning. Encourage retrospective activities instead of telling. Listen to your employees, through surveys or not.
