Process

'Ghosting' is a problem and not okay.

I appreciate the opportunity (30-minute scheduled phone call, with some warm email correspondence back and forth) to learn more about the department, the role, and the company, after being directly approached by the recruiting team. However, I did not hear anything afterward, regardless of my attempts to stay engaged.

Due to the lack of response, it's a fair assumption that the decision was made to move in another direction. I certainly respect that if someone more qualified entered the picture. Rejections are disappointing, but 'ghosting' shows a lack of organizational leadership and empathy.

Displaying common courtesy to let a candidate know where they stand in the process would have been appreciated and shouldn't be a difficult conversation.

One day, you may be in my shoes, interviewing for a new, exciting company, and I hope you are not treated in such an unkind manner.
