Full Stack Web Engineer Interview Experience - Austin, Texas

Process

The software interview process was fairly standard.

It began with a phone screen with a recruiter. This call focused on discussing my resume and skills, and also allowed ample time for me to ask questions about the company and role.

Next was a technical video interview with a senior engineering manager and the hiring manager. This round included more behavioral questions and one technical feature to develop, which was expanded upon as time permitted.

I felt confident in my implementation of the feature, but realized there must have been a high bar to pass this round, as I did not move on after the technical video interview.

Questions

The phone screen included basic "why do you want to work for the company" questions.

More situational behavior questions followed in the technical video interview.

I was then asked to write a quick event/callback-like feature that included subscribing and unsubscribing to certain events.
