I had a call with the Hiring Manager and really enjoyed the conversation. He took notes from our discussion regarding my strategies and work ethics when it comes to creating LMS-based courses.
The Job Description required the candidate to know one of the following languages: Python, Go, Java, or Scala. I knew Python and also R.
The Hiring Manager asked about my availability and when I could join. The vibe was really positive.
Two weeks later, I received a call from TA informing me that I was not successful because I knew Python and R, and they wanted someone who knew languages other than R. Basically, I was told that knowing R was not good. There was no actual feedback.
Reflection: I felt and realized that the hiring management just wanted to brainstorm different ideas with a professional without hiring or paying them.
