The initial stages of the interview process were highly streamlined. The hiring manager and technical rounds, which covered deep system design and database architecture, were engaging, collaborative, and yielded very positive signals. However, the experience took a sharp downturn during the SA Leadership round. The interviewer, who was a newly promoted Director, conducted the session with an aggressive tone. A major red flag occurred when he explicitly asked for and wrote down the name of my current direct manager, which felt highly inappropriate and unethical during an active interview process. Furthermore, he openly disparaged the existing regional team he was stepping in to manage, stating things were "totally wrong" and lacked standards. While the interview itself seemed to go well based on the technical content, I received a generic rejection two days later. The recruiter offered a detailed feedback call in their email, but subsequently ghosted all follow-up messages. It leaves the impression that the rejection was driven by personal bias rather than objective capability.
