A recruiter reached out to me through LinkedIn regarding a position in Madrid. My first meeting went well, but the recruiter warned that the interview process would consist of a grueling six-round process. I commented that those were too many rounds, and the recruiter said that nowadays the process is more streamlined because in the past, they forced candidates to go through seven meetings. When I commented that was absurd, they answered that it's similar to the process followed by companies like Amazon. Well, except that I worked at Amazon and only had to go through three rounds of interviews before receiving an offer. MongoDB's interview process seems even more absurd, considering reports that it's a company with high turnover and is quick to conduct rounds of layoffs. They invited me to the coding assessment, but after considering the time I would waste in so many arbitrary hoop-jumping sessions, I decided to pull the plug early to avoid this sort of nonsense.
Q: Are you willing to go through a 6-round interview process to be hired?
