As a person who started their career as a Systems Engineer, loving the role of building systems and keeping them performing at scale, I found myself missing that connection in SA roles I had at subsequent SaaS tech companies I worked for. That was until I joined MongoDB last year, and I immediately felt like I was home, and my career had come full circle to exactly where I'm supposed to be.
MongDB gives me all the job satisfaction I've craved for years. It allows me to practice all the sales skills I learned over the years because it takes sales discovery and the sales process so seriously. Moreover, it affords me the opportunity to work with customers on complex technical challenges where I can really develop and strengthen my technical knowledge, but also become an important part of helping customers build their application and database architectures and ultimately drive genuine value and growth for those businesses.
The only con is not MongoDB related but more COVID related. The company has a great office and a really great working culture, but sadly I've only had one opportunity over the past 12 months to enjoy it :(
My only advice for management would be to encourage and embrace a culture of constructive peer feedback and give it the same importance and attention as other aspects of our roles and responsibilities. This will have a massive impact on improving how staff grow and the bar we set both internally and externally.

The interview process included a multi-step, technical validation and a personality test to ensure the candidate was a proper fit. The recruiting team paid close attention to the candidate requirements and tried to accommodate. Overall, it was one of
