I'm not sure when it went downhill, but I've definitely seen a lot of my friends leave within the last year because of bad managers or uninteresting work.
Managers used to be really good. Behavioral interviews were an emphasis, and I can't say that's the case anymore. It can be hit or miss, and if you're unlucky with a bad one, then your experience can be terrible.
