I interviewed with Steel Store Group in May 2015. The process involved five coding rounds, followed by a final interview with the hiring manager.
As a new graduate and an international student from a top-ranked school, I was offered the position over the phone by HR, and I accepted. Based on this offer, I declined two other job offers from different companies. The HR representative at NetApp is aware of this situation.
Now, a month later, in June, HR called me for a one-minute conversation to cancel the offer. Their stated reason was that they could not wait a month for my work permit (OPT) to arrive, despite having previously agreed to do so. I communicated the timeline before the interview, during the interview to the manager, and again when I accepted the offer. Each time, they assured me that they were hiring until December of that year and would wait for my OPT. It is standard procedure for companies to wait a month for a student's OPT.
Therefore, recent graduates and international students, please be aware of NetApp. I experienced a hellish time and had to find another job within a few days to protect my visa status.
