QA Engineer Interview Experience

Process

I had one phone interview where the interviewer asked me basic questions about file systems, networking, and scripting proficiency. Later, I received an email for an onsite interview.

This interview was with seven members from different teams. They asked me questions about:

  • Operating systems
  • Multicore threaded environments
  • Perl scripting (specifically regex)
  • My desired job role
  • My current job role
  • My motivations for pursuing this role
  • My reasons for leaving my current company
  • Basic storage/deletion and memory-based questions related to file systems.

It was an average interview, and I could answer almost all the questions. Strangely, I didn't receive an offer.
