The interviews were conducted in three stages on the same day.
My first interview focused on systems design and design patterns. The interviewer asked me to design real-world examples using C++ structures (as C++ was my strong suit). For instance, I was asked how I would design Excel using C++ and how to approach designing a social networking site like Facebook.
The second interview was completely technical, featuring many basic questions about C and C++, a few problems, and one final coding question.
The third interview was a non-technical puzzle-solving round. I was asked numerous different puzzles. The interviewer inquired if I had heard of a problem before, as he was more interested in my problem-solving approach than in finding solutions. He insisted I think aloud and describe my thought process. Initially, I took time getting used to thinking aloud but soon got the hang of it.
Coding Interview Question 2:
Given that you can take 1, 2, or 3 steps, how many different ways can you traverse n steps.
