I received no further communication except that they had promoted from within. Why bother listing the job in the first place if that was their intention all along?

Pros: NetApp is a fantastic company with a great culture and a very competitive financial package. If you work in the right team, this is a company that is well-suited for you to spend most of your career.
Cons: It's a large tech company, so everything depends on whether you're working on the right team with the right manager. Try to assess where you will land from the beginning.
