NetApp is a great company if one wants to get into the storage software domain. If you get to work in the filesystems or kernel team, it's a good learning experience.
Salary is not competitive anymore.
There is a lack of trust towards newer members in the company. If you are a new member working on the filer, you will have to overcome numerous prejudices to add any substantial code to the codebase.
The managers seem to be promoting a culture where only "old-timers" are preferred for promotions and other perks. Please change or you will become obsolete.
