Work-life balance, amazing people, interesting work.
Limited $ and resources in engineering.
Most employees' mentality is to just go to work as a job, and take advantage of the strong work-life balance and benefits. There's no incentive to take ownership and do more because pay is much lower (very little equity is given) compared to other tech companies, and vertical movement is very slow progress.
Ramp-up speed is also very slow. Every transfer of knowledge is done by word of mouth rather than written documentation. If there is documentation, it's very outdated. Ramp-up should not be so painful. When a senior engineer leaves, the knowledge/expertise is lost.
Invest more into engineering to compete with other tech companies, motivate people to innovate, and attract new talent.
NetApp seems to be following trends instead of setting tech trends.
Encourage strong and constant documentation for self-sufficiency for new hires.
The interview process was really good. HR was really collaborative. Initially, I had a telephonic screening round with the hiring manager. I had five onsite rounds, one hour each. Problems were on linked lists, trees, tries, and DP.
I was contacted by the Hiring Manager. There were two rounds of phone screening interviews, followed by an on-site interview that had three rounds of technical interviews. The people were really nice at the on-site interview and made me comfortable
I was lucky to get an interview through a company recruiter as a result of applying for a software engineer position via their website. The recruiter called me about a month later and arranged for me to have an on-site interview, which was scheduled
