The interview process with New Relic was well-structured and smooth. It began with an initial online assessment to evaluate problem-solving and coding skills.
After clearing this round, I was invited for a series of technical interviews that included both coding challenges and conceptual questions on data structures, algorithms, and system design. The interviewers also tested my understanding of real-world problem-solving and scenario-based questions related to software development.
In the next stage, I had a behavioral/HR interview where I was asked about my background, projects, teamwork, and motivation to join New Relic. The interviewers were professional, supportive, and created a comfortable environment, which allowed me to express my ideas clearly.
Overall, the process was transparent, organized, and gave me a good understanding of the company’s culture and expectations.
One of the main questions I was asked was to design an API for a given use case. They wanted me to explain the endpoints, request/response structure, error handling, and how I would make the API scalable and secure.
The focus was on clarity of design, best practices, and how I approached the problem rather than just the final answer.
