Horrible experience. The person taking the interview for the UI Architect position doesn't even know "ABC" of front-end and JavaScript. He is a heavy backend person.
He asked questions related to Java, ElasticSearch, and databases, which doesn't make any sense at all for a UI Architect position.
Zero questions related to front-end.
Sheer waste of time.
If such people take interviews, then only God can save this already sinking company.
He asked what programming languages you know other than front-end. I said recently I have worked on Python and previously worked on Java (6 years back). The interviewer only knew Java and kept on asking questions related to Java. The questions were however very simple and college graduate level.
He asked whether you have worked on database design & implementation. I said I know MySQL, Oracle SQL, then he asked do you know NoSQL. I said no and he kept on asking questions related to NoSQL. Such a stupid and unprofessional person. Despite declining multiple times and requesting to focus the interview on front-end skills, he kept asking NoSQL related questions.
Then he asked about Elastic Search and how it works. My answer was generic, and being in front-end development, I never worked on its implementation. He still kept asking questions related to it.
