It was a great place to work during the mobile phone boom. The salary was probably on the lower end of the range, but the benefits were good. The time off was great (since it was a European company), and the opportunity to travel was good. Lots of opportunity to work with smart people from all over the world and make world-class products.
Suffered from big company complacency and suffered greatly from it. With the thinking they were invincible in the mobile phone industry, they ignored industry trends and the insights of their employees. They decided things like flip phones, touch screen phones, app ecosystems, and the US market were not important. Eventually, these missteps caused the failure of the mobile phone business and the eventual sell-off to Microsoft (which was a brilliant move by Nokia to cash out, but a horrible move for Microsoft and all of the employees who were eventually let go).
No matter how dominant your position in a market, never stop listening to industry trends and, especially, your employees (after all, that's what you're paying them for). The only constant is change, and if you fail to recognize that change is necessary, it's a sure recipe for extinction.
It has two people on the panel and asks general questions. They asked about: * Strengths * Weaknesses * How to explain web development to a non-technical person * Challenges faced in a project and how you overcame them.
There were two interview rounds. They talked more about what kind of topics might be available by the time I joined and what sort of work they think would be relevant to me based on my resume.
Has a great interview process. They are not very elaborate but to the point. The recruitment process was completed very fast, and the recruiters are quite friendly. But I didn't get time to discuss the salary.
