Process

The interview process included:

  • An initial phone call with a recruiter.
  • Two technical 45-minute phone interviews.
  • An on-site interview with four interviews over three hours, including a 30-minute break. The on-site interviews consisted of:
    • Two technical interviews.
    • One behavioral interview.
    • One system design interview.

My interview experience was overall very positive. Nuro is clearly interested in hiring people with a variety of backgrounds, and I get the impression their interview questions are tailored to candidates. Everyone I spoke to was passionate about their work and Nuro's mission. They were also willing to hear about (and take into consideration) my academic background, whereas many other companies typically focus only on technical achievements and programming skills.

This made me feel more valued and was one of the key reasons why I chose to accept the offer. It was one of the most interesting and unique interview processes I have been through.
