I had a mixed experience in my interview process with this company.
The process began with a technical interview that focused primarily on questions about algorithms and data structures. I was asked to share my screen to write code and solve problems in real-time, which was an interesting but also somewhat stressful challenge. I was a bit surprised that there were no specific questions about Machine Learning, given that it is my area of specialization, but I understand that it might not have been the main focus for this position.
After the technical part, we had a more relaxed conversation about my hobbies and interests outside of work. It was nice to have the opportunity to show a bit more of my personality and talk about how my hobbies have influenced my professional development. However, I felt that this part was a bit superficial and I'm not sure how much weight it had in the final decision.
One point to note is that the entire interview was in English. This was not a problem for me, but I think it's important for candidates to know in advance that a good level of English is expected to be able to communicate effectively during the process.
After the interview, the wait was a bit long. About two weeks passed before I received a response, which kept me in a state of uncertainty. I understand they need time to evaluate all candidates, but I believe they could improve their post-interview communication to keep candidates informed.
Overall, it was an experience that allowed me to practice my interview skills and gain some insights into what this particular company looks for in its candidates. Although the outcome may not have been what I expected, I appreciate having had the opportunity and having learned a few things in the process.
