Senior Mechanical Engineer Interview Experience - Brazil

December 1, 2022
Positive ExperienceNo Offer

Process

The interview process involves several stages:

  • After initial discussions with the recruiter, the first interview is a screening interview with a team member.
  • The second is another screening interview with the Hiring Manager.
  • The third and final step is a full day of back-to-back interviews with team members, ranging from engineers to PMs to VPs.

Like many employers, the company claims to have a great working environment and seeks "out-of-the-box" thinkers. However, discussions with interviewers and personal internal contacts suggest neither is true. They desire typical "get-in-line and stay-in-your-box" employees who will work 12-14 hours per day, including weekends.

The hiring manager does not have the final word on extending an offer. Higher-level managers can overrule and deny an offer to anyone they dislike or whose answers they did not like. Overall, the interview process and questions were easy and not out of the ordinary.
