Senior Software Development Engineer Interview Experience - Santa Clara, California

Process

Overall, not a good interview experience. It took almost three months before I received a rejection. The recruiter even called me up, two to three weeks after the interview process, apologized for the delay, and inquired about my compensation and location details, hinting at an offer in two to three days. However, after three more weeks, I received a standard, cold rejection email.

The interview process included:

  • An initial interview with HR.
  • An interview with the hiring manager, where we discussed my background and the role's requirements.
  • An initial phone screen that included a coding problem and a system design problem.
  • Five to six rounds of onsite interviews. Two were coding interviews, and the others focused on system design and background. Even the coding interviews had a system design component. Overall, the interviews were quite easy; the coding interviews were comparable to LeetCode Easy problems.
  • Another CoderPad coding interview focused on ring buffers.
  • A discussion with HR regarding personality, compensation, and other aspects.

I feel like I performed very well in the interviews. Some of the interviewers were rude and condescending, making the overall experience unpleasant.

Questions
