I applied for this position on their company website. After a few days, a recruiter contacted me and set up two telephonic interviews.
Then, I attended a half-day onsite interview at the Santa Clara office. All the questions were not that hard; they were bitwise and general array-handling types of questions.
During the onsite interview, I was interviewed by five different people, including the manager. Since I have so much experience in a similar domain, everything went very well, except for the last interview with the manager.
As all four previous people tested coding and design skills, I expected the manager to conduct a behavioral test. However, he asked me to code a program I had never heard of before. I was able to come up with a solution with a few minor bugs. He was very peculiar about fixing those bugs and expected me to code a perfect solution.
After fixing the bugs, he was not sure what else to ask. He kept asking me what topics the others had covered. Finally, he asked another question, expecting I would struggle to answer it for some time. But I quickly came up with a solution, then he started suspecting whether I’d known these questions before and began behaving a bit rudely, wanting me to code in a way he preferred.
At that moment, I understood he was not going to be a pleasant person to work under. I became impatient and asked him to show clearly what he wanted.
Quickly, after two days, I got feedback that this manager had rejected me. I had kind of guessed this outcome. I’m sure he might not have bothered to check others' feedback and outright rejected me. Anyway, I am better off not working under him.
