Process

Surprisingly, HR responded two days after my application. I received a phone call within a week. The position required a UVM expert. The interviewer mainly focused on UVM and verification basics, apart from some textbook questions.

Phone Interview Questions (mostly UVM):

  1. Describe the verification framework of a design.
  2. Why do you need a monitor when you can do the same using a driver?
  3. How do you connect components and what are the different types of ports?
  4. What ports would you use in a monitor and scoreboard?
  5. What is the difference between define and enum?
  6. Describe synchronization/communication between processes and provide an example.
  7. What is UVM, and why use UVM?
  8. Explain associative arrays.
  9. What are virtual interfaces and why do you need them?
  10. What are the different types of fork join?
