Process

Turned in my application at the job fair. Took a simple test on the spot. The questions were not that hard:

  • Dereferencing classes without declarations
  • Find the common ancestor of two nodes in a tree
  • What is a surface normal?
  • Copy a rectangle in a frame buffer to another position in the frame buffer. Consider overlapping.

Received a call two weeks later for the first round phone interview.

I was asked detailed questions about some of the projects I did.

Questions about threads, mutexes, and semaphores. I was told to implement a mutex for threads that access a shared resource. Discussed the advantages of frequency domain analysis on images versus spatial domain analysis.

A 32-bit array needed to be inverted. A lookup table would be huge. How to invert the array?

Questions

  1. What is the format of the floating-point number?

What does the following code do? Does it terminate?

c Float f, g;

f = 0; do { g = f++; } while ((f - g) != 0);

Was this helpful?
