I was there during a very busy time, and my mentor was not available most of the time. The teams were full of mostly older people. This doesn't affect interns, but old, established teams don't offer as much growth opportunity as younger teams with new products to build.
Scoping projects ahead for interns would make expectations and milestones easier to manage.
