Pros

Used to have some of the best talents in the world.

Arbitrary work assignments led to few lucky people getting good work regardless of experience.

Best place to work for 1-2 years if you want to do MS/PhD later.

Company has an overall good reputation outside.

One of the best CEOs around the world.

Cons
  • No or very limited employee benefits and rewards.
  • Too many project cancellations; the company has been on the downfall for the last 3 years.
  • Too many managers and leads compared to the working force, leading to more work per employee.
  • The company makes sure not to give any compensation or benefits to retain employees.
  • A lot of politics. Work contributions are not valued. What is more valued is how many managers and HR contacts one has.
  • Slipping deadlines has become a habit for the company. Unrealistic project deadlines lead to more stress on an already lean workforce.
  • Local managers do not encourage new ideas or methodologies.
  • Outdated and very old technology and methodology flows.
  • Core values are only meant to be on slides. If followed strictly, it leads to total isolation from the team.
Advice to Management

It's time for a cleansing ritual.

Clean up the middle-level management. Maintain an adequate manager to employee ratio.

Feedback from employees should be taken seriously. Have a strategic and sensible road map.
