Matrix management sucks. I don't think site management understand nor care about the project progress or technical challenges. All they care about is just hiring more people.
Local facilities are poor. There's bad planning and execution, and a sucking attitude towards employees. Why aren't they performance reviewed by a local manager?
IT policies are confusing and de-productive. I felt I wasn't respected when my request to access a technical document was rejected due to "IT policies".
There's a glass ceiling for senior members.
Make engineering teams report to their functional leaders at HQ, and make facility/HR/IT report to local management. It makes a lot more sense for an R&D center.
A morning conference was scheduled. The interview was conducted by 5 engineers, covering a wide variety of technical and interview questions. The leader was a project manager, not a technical lead.
Phone interview with a heiring manager and a virtual technical interview is scheduled. Each team member asked some technical questions including math problems, algorithms, computer programming language such as C, Python, and behaviors.
Not cooperative enough to pass the resume to the right team, leading to a communication gap and ultimately, the process did not happen properly.
