Not a fan of unlimited PTO.
As a new employee, I feel funny about asking for PTO where you have nothing accrued and you are still trying to prove yourself to the company. My last job transitioned to this method of PTO as well, and I didn't like it there either.
Go back to the accrual method of PTO (I know this won't happen as unlimited PTO saves the company money).
