Applause for respectfully paying for overtime
Key engineering personnel are under one roof and available as needed to assist on issues blocking my task.
Even though legally, most software engineers are exempt from overtime pay, this company is at least respectful in that they said upfront that overtime is authorized and should be recorded.
At least a few years back, there was too much overtime in the online store work. Tasks were scheduled for weekend days, rather than some companies which only ask that by Monday, they would like to see some target.
In the U.S., and probably most of the world, personal time is valued, or people may have plans already. The suggestion is to offer flexibility when expressing the need for extra workload.
