I applied online for a position, and the recruiter contacted me to arrange a one-on-one Zoom interview to discuss the qualifications. The recruiter was nice, friendly, and promised to get back to me within a day or so.
The next day, I received an email asking for my availability for an hour-long, all-in-one interview with the hiring manager. This interview was mostly behavioral and focused on my previous experience. I felt confident about passing this step, so I immediately emailed the recruiter and coordinator to share my experience and inquire about the next steps, but I received no response.
A few days later, I received an email from CodeSignal inviting me to complete a coding challenge for Okta. I immediately emailed the recruiter and coordinator to confirm the invitation was legitimate, but again, there was no response. I completed the assessment the same day, passing all the test cases, and once again emailed the recruiter and coordinator to inform them, but received no response.
After a few more days, I received an email stating that they had decided to move forward with other candidates, despite the hiring manager telling me that they had three to four open roles and would hire anyone who was good. I replied politely, expressing my disappointment and requesting feedback, but I am still waiting for an answer.
What frustrates me is not the rejection, but the lack of responsiveness from the company. My advice: don't waste your time with this company—they are not trustworthy.
The interview with the hiring manager was primarily behavioral and focused on my experience.
