I applied for a mid/senior software developer position in Shanghai on LinkedIn.
A few days later, an HR contact reached out to me on LinkedIn, and we had a short phone chat the next day.
She asked me why I wanted to move and reviewed my past working experiences.
She seemed unsatisfied with my answer about why Optiver.
About twenty minutes later, she said I was not suitable for this role, which requires a full understanding of the whole trading system, performance tuning, and so on.
I was really excited about the upcoming technical interviews. What a pity!
