Associate Software Engineer Interview Experience - India

Process

I am ecstatic to announce that I have been offered an Associate Software Developer/Associate Application Developer role at Oracle through an on-campus drive.

It consisted of around 4 rounds: an online test, Technical Round 1, Technical Round 2, followed by HR.

The online test consisted of MCQs with time limits for each section; however, it could be cleared with ease.

Being my first interview, I felt nervous in Technical Round 1, but the Oracle team was really supportive and enthralled my confidence to clear the round. I was asked about the SDLC lifecycle, machine-level execution of some instructions, standard libraries in C++, OOPs concepts, and some standard programming questions, which felt like a cakewalk.

In Technical Round 2, the interviewer tested my knowledge based on my resume, such as projects I had done, Python-related topics, 3 coding questions, and a puzzle.

Finally, in the HR round, I was tested based on interested topics, computer networks, OS, my confidence in my interested topics, 'tell me about yourself', goals, etc., and it ended with a puzzle.

The recruitment team and HR were quite supportive throughout the whole process, which made me forget that it was my first interview and they answered my queries without any hesitation.

This was my best experience with Oracle.

Questions

  1. What is the SDLC lifecycle?

  2. Machine-level execution of i++ and i = i + 1.

  3. What are the operations of the data link layer and network layer?

  4. What are semaphores and monitors in OS?

Was this helpful?
