Process

The interview process included an HR phone screen, a technical phone screen, a pre-interview phone discussion, and a final interview panel.

The panel interview involved the director and his direct reporting manager, who would be my manager. There could have been more people involved, but expect at least two people on the panel.

Questions

The in-person interview was a 1-hour role-playing scenario. One person observed while the interviewer and I stood at a whiteboard.

The primary interviewer played a potential client CTO, and I played the role of the Oracle Enterprise Architect, the position for which I was interviewing.

I was given a 10-page case study a couple of weeks beforehand and required to describe how Oracle products could help the CTO and his technical situations. Several questions occurred, mostly focusing on why I might suggest one technology option over another, or how that technology works.

After the role-playing was complete, both interviewers probed about why certain things were discussed, and again, why "this" and not "that," or if I had considered anything else that I should have mentioned.
