It was the worst interview I have ever attended. I applied on LinkedIn and, after a few days, received a call from Oracle for an online interview. I prepared everything based on the job description.
The interview lasted around 20 minutes, no more than that. The interviewer had no manners in how to conduct an interview. During the interview, he never turned on his camera, and there was too much noise coming from the background. He was probably watching a movie while conducting the interview.
He did not even provide an introduction about the company or the job description; he skipped his introduction as well, and the interview started directly with my experience. Then, he asked me to share my screen and write a program to reverse a string in Java. It took around 3 minutes to complete.
After that, I informed him three-quarters of the way through that I had finished, but there was no response. He was likely watching a movie, so his microphone and speaker were probably muted, and I was waiting for his response.
Around 10 minutes later, he turned on his microphone and asked me whether I had completed it or not. When I said yes, he asked me to run the program. Then, he seemed blank about what to ask next.
He asked me what method overloading is. I answered, and again, he was confused about what to ask next.
Then he asked, "Can we overload static methods?" I answered, again confused about what to ask.
He asked me whether I had used any databases. I said yes, I have used databases, and again, he was confused about what to ask. Then he asked what databases I had used. I answered.
My part of the interview was then finished.
This was my interview experience. I knew I wouldn't get selected after this pathetic interview and, eventually, I was not selected.
In my words, before the interview, I was so excited that I got an interview call from one of my dream companies. I put huge hard work into interview preparation. After the interview, I felt very demotivated. I couldn't understand the reason behind conducting an interview in such a bad way and playing with a candidate's dreams.
