The process took over four weeks. I applied through the Oracle website for the Bronto team.
The first contact was via email, followed by a short call with HR to discuss my resume, previous experiences, and future expectations.
Then, I had an interview with the team lead by Skype. Initially, the interviewer introduced the company, the project, technologies, architecture, and team size. We discussed my previous experiences, focusing on the system's purpose, technologies used, and my expectations for the opportunity. This interview lasted one hour.
After that, I received a phone call with a salary proposal to discuss my acceptance of the offer.
The third interview was an in-person meeting, which had very poor reception from the company. The interview was divided into two steps:
First, they placed me in a room with three men, provided a notebook, and asked me to solve an algorithm problem, essentially a HackerRank exercise at an expert level. I had 30 minutes to finish. As I was attempting to solve it, the principal interviewer called me over, stated I was disapproved, and that it was an easy algorithm, implying I needed to study more, seemingly to prove their own expertise.
Second, I had a call via Skype with other individuals from the USA to discuss software architecture. I was not approved for this part.
How does the split method work? This is related to how to solve the algorithm.
