The hiring manager contacted me on LinkedIn. I interviewed for the Hyderabad location. The company conducted one screening round and five loop rounds. The interview process was very straightforward.
After all the interview rounds, the real game started with the hiring manager. He interviewed me for an IC4 position. He said my feedback was positive, but the interview panel suggested the IC3 position instead of IC4. He then asked if I would be able to join in the IC3 position. I said yes.
He mentioned he would get back to me in one week. After a week, I contacted him again. He then said, "We don't want you to feel that you have been recruited for a lower position, so we are finding a position for you."
I had interviewed on May 9th, 2022. It has been two months, and I am still waiting for a reply. I contacted the recruiter, who said he would get back to me in one week, but his "one week" never materialized.
For any position, a candidate is either selected or not. Why engage in this unprofessional "position game" when you don't intend to select a candidate and merely waste their time?
