There were a total of 3 rounds. The first two rounds went well, but I am not sure if the interviewer in the third round was having a bad day or if he was under the influence. In the third round, he asked me about my past experience, and then he asked me a question: "How can you achieve pagination in a REST API?"
I told him we need to pass some parameters in the URL if it's a GET API, or we need to pass some parameters in a POST API, based on which the service will query the database.
He then started arguing that we can't do this and that he wanted to achieve pagination without sending any kind of parameter. At first, I thought I was missing something. He then asked how we can filter data in a REST API response through Postman. I said it is not possible if the service doesn't support it.
He was backfiring on my every answer. He asked really funny questions. At one moment, I felt he himself didn't know what he was asking. Although, initially, I thought I was missing something, after the interview, I Googled to find out his answers to every question and figured out that none of his questions related to REST APIs made sense.
I am not sure how high he was.
Java questions, Data structures and algorithms, LeetCode easy and medium level problems.
