I recently had the opportunity to interview with Oracle for a software engineer position. The process began with a detailed, two-hour first-round interview, which I felt went well. I was subsequently informed about a second round.
However, just before the second round, I received a notification from the hiring manager stating that the position was no longer being filled and the interview was canceled.
While I understand that business needs and hiring plans can change, I believe such decisions should be communicated before candidates invest significant time and effort in the interview process. It was disappointing to dedicate time and energy to preparation, only to learn that the role was no longer available.
I would recommend that Oracle consider improving communication in such situations to respect candidates' time and effort. Despite this experience, I appreciate the opportunity to engage with the team and wish Oracle the best in its future endeavors.
